Brantley being back is huge. Alvarez bat being bat is different than George but a replacement that isn’t available in free agency. Keirmeyer is simply elite defensively. Given a line up with Brantley, Alvarez, Altuve, Correa, Bregman and Tucker, I think we can win with a defense first center fielder. Of course, that just furthers the premium on pitching.
Man, folks. This makes things look so much better.

The 40-man is full, so signing Brantley will be accompanied by another move, but I think it’ll just be moving Verlander to the 60-day injured list. That’ll kick the can down the road.
It’s kind of like giving treats to a pet. Fans are hungry for tidbits. Helps keep them rabid. No pun intended.

That’s borne out by the fact that in the six years I’ve been a season-ticket holder, they’ve made an effort to communicate during the offseason. This winter has been an exception. I assume the front office staff is still working from home, so that could explain part of it. But the relative silence is not encouraging.
Anyway, the Brantley re-signing, as Brad Lidge might put it, is f***ing huge.

This is the most confusing comparison I’ve ever seen.
They also laid off and/or furloughed staff, right? Could also explain things like that falling through the cracks or not getting done.
