A few years ago, Springer made the fantastic game-winning grand slam robbery in Arlington. He didn’t pretend it went out, but he just started running in and didn’t show the ball. As he ran in, the umpire stopped him to make sure he had the ball and lectured him about it, saying “you gotta show the ball”.
