Pence grounds out 5-3
Longoria was shaking his head.
Watched a 68 mph bender plop in for a strike, then chased a Frisbee slider that started right and ended in the opposite batter’s box.
Correa grounds up the middle, under pitchers glove, 2B can’t snag it. Infield single.
Tucker 2-0, drops a single into right; Correa to 2nd.
This team used to be able to put a game out of reach before the opposing manager could get anyone warmed up in the bullpen. Now: the last time this team hit a 3-run homer was July 27 (the final game of the opening series vs. the Mariners). And the number of 2-run homers has been dismal too.
Toro bats from the right, takes inside 1-0, just low 2-0, takes a strike 2-1, misses 2-2, low/inside 3-2, slaps a single to right to load em up
Shoulda said that sooner…
Nice! Needed that.
Maldonado takes a strike, misses a high FB, takes a wp low, Correa scores, other runners move up, low again 2-2, Homers to left!!
Astros lead 5-1
Man, Machete is probably pissed about that wild pitch…robbed him of a salami.
Again, if you don’t throw him a high FB you deserve to give up a 3 run tater.
The problem has been that big leads aren’t doing them any good either.
Selman (LHP) pitching
Straw F9
Springer singles to center
Reddick 3-1, 3-2, waves at a slider that ended in the next zip code
Reddick 3-1, 3-2, waves at a slider that ended in the next zip code
Reddick 3-1, 3-2, waves at a slider that ended in the next zip code
That was a tough pitch. Started on the plate and just kept moving away from him.
Bregman 2-0, 2-1, 3-1, fouls a slider 3-2, punches a ball into center, Springer to 3rd
Giants four runs down late…got the Astros right where they want em
Gurriel battles but flies out F7
Astros 5-1
I’ve developed a headache.
Maybe it’s the confusion with what just happened.
Somebody grab pbp.
