Giants @ Astros, August 11, 2020

Someone explain to me why Cy Sneed isn’t taxiing his way to Corpus as soon as he’s done with his socially distanced shower.

Because his replacement will be even worse?

I find that absolutely impossible to believe.

Sneed’s ERA over the last 7 days is 36. Not a typo… THIRTY FUCKING SIX.

And that’s not counting tonight’s shit sandwich.

Jesus, Carlos.

Bottom 10

Springer PR for Uncle Mike to start the inning

Yuli chops one to 2nd, advances Springer to 3rd.

Correa gets a meatball 2-0 and takes it for strike 1, swings at a curve in the left hand batter’s box for strike two. Fouls one off. 2-2 pitch, Swings at another shit curve ball out of the zone and up. Fucking putrid at bat, surprise surprise.

2 outs.

Our last hope is… Kyle Tucker? Well fuck. Swings out of his fucking shoes at strike one at the knees and comes up empty. This guy has topped out at fucking 84 MPH. Fouls back another slopball, down 0-2. Here comes a wild swing and miss to the game… But first, a quick mound meeting to talk about what pitch Kyle is going to miss. Takes a pitch 3 inches off the outside corner for strike 3. That was fucking horrific, and hasn’t been a strike a single time this entire game.

Fucking brutal loss.

Fucking ump. Oh well,Tucker would have probably popped out or something anyway.

Baserunning and defense.

The Houston Astros are a shitty, shitty baseball team.

Shitty pitching, shitty hitting with runners in scoring position, and shitty coaching.

This stupid season can’t end soon enough.

This absolutely pathetic inability to get a single runner home from 2nd with no outs in extras just exemplifies what is wrong with this team currently.

Fucking Christ, I’m about 2 more games like this from giving up.

We’re only 3 games below .500? How is that possible?

The good news is they’re hanging on to 11th place.

Dusty said it was Stubb’s decision to try to steal 3rd.

Was Straw not going as well?

I was listening on the radio at the time and they said both runners took off.

That’s what they said on TV as well. Both left at the same time.

Well that was awful.

Watched the Correa and Tucker ABs.

Correa was at the pitchers mercy.

Tucker will not see more hittable curves than the first 2.

The “strikeout” pitch is a prime example of why roboumps are coming. Ball game ended with tying run 90 feet away on a pitch that started and stayed 3 inches off the plate.

But the big picture is this team sucks.

Horrible baserunning and horrible at bats late, but they scored 6 runs, and had a 4-run lead late. That’s a game you have to win. Every. Single. Time. The bullpen is in shambles. I get that you lost four of your best five relievers from last year, and you’re going with 11 or 12 or however many rookies…but, it’s not all rookies. The problem is Pressly, James, and Sneed. If those three don’t turn it around, this team will not win 20 games this season. The Astros sure don’t seem particularly interested this season, treating it basically like Spring Training, so perhaps just blowing off this year is the plan.

And he can’t get on base. But he’s fast.
