Hell. I posted my comment in the wrong thread.
Yes, I thought it was great.
Maybe we should try the red string thing in the GZ.

There are several folks that I have zero interest in having any body part of mine attached to, no matter how long the string is.
Also, how long has string been legal?
Wants to know what the red string thing is.

Yep. One of the best Lasso episodes. A fabulous blend of laughter and sadness, but always with a giant pumping heart at its core.
Also, the Coach/Will job swap had me in stitches.
Also, Total Football
Great description of this series when it’s at its best.
Sam is the stealth MVP and this season has sorely missed him.
But who could have seen this version of Tartt in S1?
Sam’s dad in the kitchen was great.
The subtle callback of Sam’s dad pulling his earlobe for luck got me right in the feels.
You guys have touched on some things that had been missing in season 3.
Jamie: had a character arc in S1 and S2
Roy: had an arc
Sam: had an arc
All 3 were left hanging until the last 2 episodes (although Roy is still just a comedic prop).
The Keeley story this year is a huge swing and a miss. I find her exceedingly frivolous, and where last season she was growing into the role of a successful businesswoman this season she’s looks like she’s playing dress up in an office. And the new romance is simply not there and feels like very lazy writing. New love interest? Ok but we have to have a twist. Ok, what’s their job? Kabillionaire. Great let’s run with it.
Anyway they seemed to wander but are back on track.
Based on everything I’ve read here, along with unlimited viewing options and limited time. I’m gonna skip season three. At least for now.
That’s a mistake of the highest order.
Just like it went last season, people bitched and moaned about the story not advancing fast enough until the turnaround episode in the middle of the season.
Same thing this year. They have to create conflict to solve/move the story. You don’t have to LIKE the build up, but it’s happening. And the last 2 episodes have been brilliant and everything is trending steeply upwards.
If you enjoyed the first 2 seasons you’ll enjoy this one.
And the last 2 episodes will remind you why you bought into this ridiculous premise in the first place.
I will say, I think I’d enjoy the show more (and I love it still) if I could binge watch vs waiting a week between episodes. I didnt start watching until after S1 was done and was able to binge it, I miss doing that.
I’m right there with you.
My hot take for the day: we’re only four episodes into S3 but I still find myself wishing they had made S1 a one-and-done. For my taste, the character development has been lacking.
Just watched the latest one over lunch…last 2 episodes are really near the top of my favorites in the series.
No man, it isn’t even a minor mistake for me, not if I find other shows more enjoyable. I loved season one, didn’t care for season two. I imagine I’ll get around to season three but just not right now. I am about to commence watching Better Call Saul’s last season now that it is on Netflix. I can’t watch everything. I’m impressed by how much some are able to keep up with.
I will say that the one thing bothering me is the show is completely disinterested in the sketchy power balance of some of these relationships.
I think that some of the relationships are a little contrived and silly, but when you compare it to actual real life and not a TV show, most of them aren’t super far fetched. Or at least the way they end isn’t far fetched.
