The Lakers show on HBO is a hoot.

A little late to the game (and maybe this should be in the music thread) but just got around to watching The Beastie Boys Story on Apple TV. Really insightful and a bit heartbreaking. It’s a self described “Live documentary” and is basically the two remaining members on stage in front of an audience telling their story from the beginning.

Yeah, that was pretty good.

Lots of new TV dropping today, including Drive to Survive on Netflix.

Severance is one of the most fucked up things on TV. It’s brilliant. I hope they stick the landing because the set-up is amazingly inventive and…well…fucked up.

I’ve enjoyed Mrs Maisel. I thought it was anachronistic, but apparently Mrs. Maisel is loosely based on Joan Rivers.

So NBC looked at the Eurovision Song Contest and thought “why not?” Ugh!

It was inevitable. The only surprise is that they don’t have dressed up as the state flowers or something.

Flowers? Umm…

In their defense, it’s dark 6 months of the year.

Those guys are to GWAR as The Archies are to the Beatles.

GWAR is like a slow train wreck. You just can’t not watch.

That Billy Ocean cover is horrible.

Servant of the People is streaming on Netflix. Watching it is very strange.

Severance continues to be weird and creepy and brilliant.

Watching Ukranians doing mundane things, and Zelensky as a comic, is deeply sad.

I feel compelled to watch this, but I’m very nervous. The whole BBC paedophile ring scandal involved so many of the on screen personalities of my youth, and the revelations came so thick and fast, that I remember when I saw a headline about another one and I was happy to see only that he’d died, rather than be arrested.

I’m going to see just how in plain sight this all was, and it’s going to be a gut punch.

Imagine learning that Dick Clark was an absolute monster…

My wife got me hooked on Marvel’s Hit Monkey animated series on Hulu. The story is even more ridiculous than the title but it revels in it and even has some unexpected heart for a show about a monkey hitman. Some classic and not so classic Marvel characters show up as well.

Chris Rock is a pro’s pro.
