Most unbelievable part of the movie

I remember watching the D-Day scene in Saving Private Ryan. The Germans start going hog wild on their machine guns, just holding the trigger down. I’m thinking to myself “That’s not how they did it at all! They used short aimed bursts to keep the barrels from overheating and melting!”

Totally took me right out of the movie so I left.

Holy cow. That is a wee bit too anal.

Check your sarcasm meter.

Could be. Hard to tell after Comanches and trees.

When I watched Dennis Quaid in The Rookie, and there was the scene where he throws against the traffic radar, and it says “46”, but then flashed to “96”…I’m thinking…no, that really was 46 mph. Worst. Movie. Ever.

No doubt, but at least Braveheart was probably filmed in Scotland. Plus Freedom!

Mostly Ireland. Which is pretty much the same thing.

A friend from Scotland once told me “never call a Scotsman, Irish. Never call an Irishman, Scottish. And never EVER call either one of them English”.

Just have a Scot say it - no one would understand.

Grand Tour had a few episodes in Scotland.

They explained that a random yahoo from Edinburgh is Scottish, but Scotsman who does something good is British.

And now you can’t unsee it too.

The deepfakers were so preoccupied with whether or not they could that they didn’t stop to think if they should.

I like Willem Defoe a lot but not that much.

I’m something of a pretty woman myself.

While it’s fun to talk about a creepy face swap in a video like that, the implications are staggering. That digital face swap was accomplished with a simple, open-source AI that anyone can use. It’s relatively crude but 1) free and 2) generations in quality ahead of what was possible on a simple PC even a few years ago. With additional resources, what is possible, with massive increases in sophistication and quality is there for the asking with massive additional increases in sophistication and quality literally weeks and months away.

The reason I say all of this is the deep fake “industry” has the tools, processing power and increasing skill to create significantly believable modified content, moments after an event or new, self-generated content at will. Right now, over 70% of salacious content out there is created by nation-state and fringe factories. But, is relatively easily spotted by discerning consumers of that content. This will soon not be the case. It’ll be up to us to change how we analyze and discern creditability.

I am 100% confident that we are not up to the task.

There is no need for this movie, which is proven by the fact that Daniel Radcliff - who regularly takes the roles that absolutely no one else would - is the star.
