Pitches 2 innings in Spring Training and then goes 6+ in the opener. Dude looked sharp. Time to think of him as #2 in the rotation and say it with confidence.

He’s looked sharp for the last two years and is the ace (#1, not #2) of this team until/unless Verlander shows that he has recovered well.

Framber, Javier, and Urquidy got a lot of reps in simulated games and on the back fields, so their spring training stats are a bit misleading w.r.t. their readiness.
