When I wake up tomorrow, 80 is how old I will be. On one hand, I cannot fucking believe it. How did this happen? On the other hand, I am glad to still be here to interact with all y’all about the Astros and to learn about a myriad of topics from the many Renaissance men and women who post here.
I have had a fun and reasonably successful ride which I hope continues for a good long while. I guess I no longer can fuss at anyone for calling me old. As my great friend HH often says, old man jokes never get old.
Happy Birthday Jim! That’s one hell of a milestone. Congratulations. My grandmother turned 101 earlier this year and it’s still doing pretty darn good all things considered. Keep on rolling!
I just saw a guy perform and he played a song off his first record. He said, This came out when I was 31 and now I’m 61. (Pause) That doesn’t seem right.
Realizing that I was closer to 70 than 40 gave me a shiver. Of course, that was a number of years ago.
