Anderson Cooper challenged him about pushing fake, potentially dangerous “cures”. Cooper asked the My Pillow guy “How do you sleep at night?”. He’s so dumb he didn’t have a come back for that.
I couldn’t believe he didn’t launch into an infomercial immediately.
This is crazy:
https://www.sacbee.com/news/california/fires/article243977827.html
CA is desperately short of fire-fighting capacity going into wildfire season because they normally use convict labor but the prisons are so rife with COVID-19 they can’t supply prisoners.
We were almost back to normal and were at double digit local infections in Korea. The unusually ridiculous rainy season had ended, vacation season was wrapping up with no major flare ups, and then a radical conservative protestant pastor decided that the virus was a hoax and God would protect him from it so he had his congregation protest in the thousands despite the government telling them they couldn’t. Now we’ve had over 1,000 new cases, most of them linked to two churches, in the past six days. We’re back in it again just as we had almost clawed our way out. Oh and that conservative pastor? He was diagnosed with Covid a few days after his stunt. According to him North Korea gave it to him in an assassination attempt.
That’s a shame.
Who has more nut jobs per capita, there or the US?
Definitely the US. This guy is getting destroyed in the public realm. The previous main outbreak was due to another extreme church and the city government is now suing them in court for damages done due to their negligence and refusal to cooperate with the government once the outbreak was identified.
In the U.S., the wingnuts would be nominating this guy for President.
That sucks. It just goes to show that no one can be free of it until we all take it seriously and do the right thing.
A sobering reminder that “recovery” from COVID-19 doesn’t always mean what we think it means:
The lingering effects for many of the 5 million and counting victims - there are reports that some are found to be rife head-to-toe with blood clots, for example - will be terrible…and costly.
By the way, Texas has blown by New York in total cases, and now sits as #2 to California, with whom we are keeping pace in new cases, despite having a notably smaller population. Florida is hanging in there, though, while New York is all-but done with this thing.
From Worldometers:
Shit I somehow missed this. Sorry for the late reply. The economy isn’t good but its not as bad as they expected is how you could put it. Some areas are thriving like delivery. The service industry is hanging on and maybe some places are doing well but it works differently than in the US. The small and medium independent restaurants and cafes function differently and rely on reciprocation and relationships with other businesses. They’ve been using this to support each other and find new ways to innovate. Our food delivery system was already stellar and robust so now its gotten even better with more restaurants jumping on board with some creative results. However the service industry is where all the layoffs have been and there have been many so its not all peachy but could be worse.
Circling back on the whole CDC vs. HHS thing, they appear to be reversing course, at least in part.
NOT COVID
I really haven’t talked about this outside of my immediate family, but I figured I would here.
I have now been stuck in the hospital for 15 days now. No indication as to when I get out. Just complications due to my problems I have been going through for years.
Please keep me in the back of your minds. You are keeping me sane right now.
Thank you.
You’re at the front of my mind, brother. You’re one of my favorite peoples.
Hang in there
Ditto.
I’ll keep you in my thoughts and prayers, Joey. I hope you get to go home soon.
Yes, Joey!
Get healthy and home soon!!
Hang in there, man, get well soon.
Sending prayers and good thoughts your way, ETA. Hang in there.
