COVID-19

Merrifield doesn’t likely have to worry about that because no contending organization with a brain trades for him now. I’m sure the Royals front office loves the fact some of their most valuable trade candidates have torpedoed their value by not getting a simple shot.

I would be a better teammate if I had a better team. Not my fault!

Looks like you’re correct.

Who did the Astros NOT send to Toronto?

According to the Chronicle, everyone on the 28 man roster and staff at the time was vaccinated and travelled.

Let’s not forget that Heyman is a bloviating idiot.

Confirmed yet again, it appears. Nice use of the word “bloviating”. I got to use it once here this week and once at work so it’s been a good week.

BA.5 is more infectious than measles, and has been known to reinfect people within weeks of recovering from a prior infection. It seems relatively mild, though.

That’s astonishing. It’s the most infectious disease in human history. I used to think that measles represented some kind of limit.

Apparently there’s a scale; measles is 18 and BA.5 is 18.6.

I wonder how much higher it can go?

COVID’s going to find out.

How many people are there? I suppose it can go into the billions. Theoretically.

My guess is that some strain of COVID will eventually obliterate the infection rate of measles, as we’re finding out that pretty much the entire population of the earth is vunerable, even those who have had it recently. Hell, we may find a day that the people who currently are infected with COVID can still be infected again with a different strain of COVID.

I traveled to Seattle a couple weekends ago for a family thing. A couple of days after I got home six people that went on the trip, all of whom I’d been in close contact with, had COVID. I still haven’t gotten it.

I’m sorry but we have to tear you down to the molecular level to discover the source of your powers. It’s for the greater good.

No and no.

That claim of an R-naught of 18.6 and being the most infectious disease in human history is debunked in this fact check.

I’m sure my number will get called eventually, but after that trip and the rest of my household getting it last December/January, I’m actually starting to think that I’m immune to it.

Please do not look directly at the gamma ray emitter…

That seems like a risky thing to say to the Covid Gods.
