I don’t know what I’m supposed to take from that, but it’s brilliant.
Now this is just funny enough to hope to be true
Early indications are that the Twins have no real interest in Sanchez and intend for flip him, probably to an NL team. San Diego immediately comes to mind now that Washington has signed Nelson Cruz. And the Padres are deep in pitching which the Twins could always use.
So, with the Twins dumping Donalson’s salary and IKF also being in the deal to the Yankees, they still need and infielder on the left side. With their payroll sitting at $94M after the Donalson trade, they could easily afford to go after Correa or Story and their team payroll would still only be at about $130 after signing them. It wouldn’t be very “Twins-like” for them to make that big of a free agent splash, but they certainly have the need and the cap space. Correa has always hit well at Target Field. Something could be brewing in the Twin Cities…
I’ll believe Carlos signs with the Twins when I actually see him in a Twins uniform
You might be right. My best friend who is a Twins fan claims The Athletic is now reporting that the Twins are deep in talks with Trevor Story. But I personally haven’t seen that report.
Rosenthal and others have reported the Twins have no such plans to flip Sanchez.
Yeah, there have been some conflicting reports on that now. Twins might feel Sanchez can thrive and perform better outside of New York. Not a bad gamble, and for all of his defensive shortcomings, he could always be their DH when not catching since they no longer have Cruz.
DH and part time C makes sense for them
Do you have a link on that?
Actually no, since I didn’t renew my subscription when The NY Times acquired it. I will amend my original post to be more accurate.
Your friend didn’t look too closely at the fake outlet tweeting that out…

So yes that would make it a fake Story story.
Heyman also saying Astros are making a push
Not the first time or the last time that has happened to someone.
But Steve Adams of MLB Trade Rumors now says the Twins are in talks with Story according to Dan Hayes of The Athletic.
I find it hard to believe that Crane hasn’t been involved up this point.
There’s a differences between involved by giving the GM instructions and “involved” by talking to the agent and player directly.
Still this is good news for the camp that wants Correa back.
Crane strikes me as a guy who gets things done and billionaires typically get what they want.
He would not be involved if he didn’t want Carlos back.
I don’t recall him being reported as involved last year when Springer was looking for a place to play.
I don’t recall any report that they even made Springer an offer.
I’m sure they made some sort of offer, and of course the QO, but no, they did not make a serious push to re-sign Springer.
