They didn’t beat UH when anything was on the line.
Memphis had all sorts of chemistry issues. They appeared to get things worked out, they have top 5 talent. They finished the year on a 13-2 run, but did get beaten pretty bad by UH in the conference tourney.
Gonzaga turned on the jets in the 2H. Squeaks out the win
Maybe Memphis beating UH was a fluke.
Alright Coogs, let’s start today off right.
I’d like to see a few less offensive rebounds and a few more made shots.
Second and third chance shots are great, fourth chance means you just missed the last three…
Defense don’t slump
This probably the worst officiated tournament I’ve ever seen.
Cougars did not finish the 1H well. 12-4 run, including allowing an easy inbounds and uncontested 3-pointer as the half expired.
Some of the high seed/low seed games and blowouts have been atrociously bad in the “foul every time down the floor” category once the score starts to tilt.
The flagrant and the foul on the 3pt where he kicked his leg out were bullshit.
The flagrant was mind boggling bad. The phantom foul on the 3-pointer was like Angel Hernandez bad. But there have been bad calls on both sides, in every game. And they seem unusually bad.
Cougars look defeated now, even with a lead.
And there goes the lead. Shitfuck.
Coogs have shown great team offense, both halfcourt and in transition, but it’s been interspersed with simply horrible ‘jack-it-up’ shot selection.
They move the ball so well, then chuck up a ridiculously bad shot. I don’t get it.
Illinois plays old school, big man in the middle basketball. Cougars have no defense for that.
Taze Moore has some unreal hops.
Carlton and others did a great job on him in the first half…then Carlton got in foul trouble
