College Football 2026

Almost 1 month out before the opening game in Dublin. I’m ready.

In Longhorn news, John Meredith III, the 2027 5* CB recruit who was recently banned from playing for his new HS due to nebulous transfer and residence reasons, has reclassified to this class and will suit up this fall.

I was in Dublin this time last year and representatives of TCU and UNC were filming B roll in the Guinness Brewery. What a marvelous boondoggle for all involved, especially the kids in the bands and others who get to travel to the game.

I am feeling the pre- season hope starting to build. As an Auburn fan, you know it is the hope that kills you.

from espn:

Let’s hope nobody you know is getting married on either of these Saturdays.

On Oct. 10, Oklahoma and Texas clash in Dallas, Georgia visits Alabama and USC goes to State College for Matt Campbell’s first big test.

Oct. 17, however, might even be worse for a wedding.

Ohio State travels to Indiana in a rematch of the Big Ten title game, the Crimson Tide visit rival Tennessee, Notre Dame heads to BYU, Florida State and Miami square off and the Nittany Lions visit the Big House in Ann Arbor.

Other notable Oct. 17 matchups: Auburn-Georgia, Arizona State-Texas Tech, Florida-Texas, Missouri-Ole Miss, Kansas-Kansas State, TCU-Baylor, Georgia Tech-Virginia Tech and North Carolina-Duke.

Thanks for the heads up. Way this Harvest started (and when), I just might get to watch college football in October.

Nothing nebulous about that rule.

He must have really scored high on his SAT.

A new low:

Well, ok then.

I wonder when we’ll start paying micro transactions for looking at people in the street.

Did anyone tell him about his teammate who also wore #5 at LSU?

All jersey numbers are now NIL.

Fuck it, let’s move away from integers.

Sooners have a new TE named Rocky Beers. Can’t imagine how many of his jerseys they’ve sold already.

He gets around. Air Force to FIU to Colorado State to Oklahoma. With the new 5 to play 5, this isn’t the last round for Beers.

You’re assuming a degree of literacy I’m not sure the land thieves north of the Red River are capable of.
