One of my all time favorite ref fuck ups was when a team got the ball at the 20 after a touchback. On 4th down got to the 29. They were a full yard short of the 30, clear as day. They bring out the chains, and it’s a first down. They had set the ball at the 20, but the chains at the 19. The coach was going nuts, but I guess the chains don’t lie.
