College Football 2022

Welp, Utah, Arizona and Arizona State will be joining the B12 in the next 24 hours once the B12 approves their entry.

I’m curious what happens with the PAC4 now. Will they try to poach Mountain west schools and stick around as a G5(not really 5 anymore) or just dissolve and abandon the PAC name and join the Mountain West?

I think Stanford might seriously consider a drop to FCS.

That desperate to not be in a conference with Boise State?

I doubt it. Not with their tradition in baseball and women’s basketball. Neither move the needle for a conference, but I don’t think they want those programs going down a division.

I suppose they could try to go independent in football and join another conference for other sports

It will be interesting to see what happens going forward. I dont think ESPN/Fox have the money to pay these media deals in the long run, with their current model, as long as cable subscriptions keep dwindling. I could see there coming a time in the near-ish future, a situation like what is happening with MLB and the RSNs.

Wouldn’t they still be D1 for other sports if in FCS?

I forgot they could do that like some Big East teams do for basketball. I suppose they could try to join Gonzaga in the WCC for the other sports.

Cal, Stanford, I’m begging you… go for a walk. Clear your heads.

I just don’t see it with this one

The schools all get prettier at closing time

Read a report this morning (can’t find link) that ESPN offered $30M/school to the PAC in 2022. The chancellors/presidents said to counter with $50M, and ESPN said “goodbye” and moved on to the Big 12.

They didn’t want to pay 50M for Stanford vs Arizona St?
