I mean losing twice in a week to the worst two teams in the conference would be a bed-shitting.
Even the worst teams are still pretty good.
Granted. But if you have aspirations of winning the conference, you just canât lose both those games. I credit them for grinding out a win.
Exactly right. Comments like âbed-shittingâ today are mind-boggling.
ETA: even the worst teams in this conference can play a good game and beat the âbestâ teams. It seems to me there are no easy games/nights off no mater who the opponent is or where the game is played.
Big of you.
nvm
Horns with a big time win over the Cyclones. Rice continues to step up down the stretch.
Man, the officiating in that game looked absolutely awful from the stands tonight.
Officiating in the conference has been hard to figure out all year. That could go either way in the tournament: if they get refs who swallow their whistles, other non-Big XII opponents will likely be unprepared for the violence, but if they get picky refs and are unable to adjust the style theyâve developed, we may see walk-ons finishing games.
I recently learned that refs are independent contractors and are not tied to a conference. They will call multiple games a week in several different conferences.
For example, Doug Sirmons who called the Texas game yesterday, after doing a quick google search of his name and 2023 also called
Duke vs Louisville 2/20, - ACC
Maryland v. Purdue 2/16 - B1G10
MTSU vs WKU 2/9, CUSA
Va Tech vs. Clemson 1/21, ACC
Richmond v VCU 1/20, - A10
There were more in BigXII, B1G10 and ACC during this time but this shows the variety of leagues they can work in just a months time.
I knew this, from recent conversations, but I wonder, how long has it been this way?
Years back, I always felt the B12 BB officials were awful, calling everything and rarely letting flow get established. Come tourney time, I always felt I was watching a new, improved version of BB.
In the last years (not sure how many), I generally think B12 BB officials have been fine, but am wondering if there is a rational reason for my perception.
A question far too infrequently asked.
This graphic caused a mild stir when shown during a Baylor-Texas game earlier this year:
So apparently Bama is following the Ravens standard of âaccessory to murder is ok by usâ?
Its like football. I know they donât have a chance to win it all, but as a BSU fan its nice that I actually can be part of this conversation this year.
Canât tell from the wording of the tweet, but Iâm guessing the complaint is about all of the travel?
Worst case scenario, itâs about giving would-be stalkers a literal road map if they want to do harm to that particular referee.
It was last week. Your stalker needs a Time Machine.
I misread it apparently. I thought it was referring to his upcoming schedule.
Yeah - the complaint was that a ref shouldnât be working this many games, that thereâs no way quality can hold up with that kind of travel schedule.
