College Baseball 2025

Regional hosts advance to the Super Regionals 66.8% of the time. So around 10 to 11 a year.

Right now, one has been eliminated and six more are playing elimination games today. Some of those will fight back for there spot. It is looking like an average year of college baseball.

After 1 inning: Oklahoma has 3 runs, Nebraska has 3 errors

Williams’s Juan Soto act is growing old.

Agreed. Humble pie can be a healthy dish if you’re willing.

Anyways, helluva start by the Horns.

Can he play football DB pretty well? If so, I’m not sure I care that much. He’ll grow out of it.

Clemson loses to Kentucky 16-4 and is eliminated from their own Regional. For context, since 2011, Clemson has hosted a Regional seven times and been eliminated in six of them. During that same span, they’ve made the Tournament eleven times and have only reached the Super Regionals once. Crazy.

Georgia on the brink of elimination. Vanderbilt down early as well.

Okie State scores 4 in the bottom of the 9th to beat (7)Georgia 11-9

Am I correct that the run rule doesn’t apply?

Is this the LLWS?

I have no idea.

If OU’s 17-1 win over Nebraska didn’t trigger one, I have to assume the rule isn’t in effect for the tournament.

That is my understanding. The conferences have run rules but the NCAA doesn’t.

I wish those guys played football every year. That used to be an amazing game.

I was wondering if Schloss would rest some guys. I guess I got an answer on position players, but wonder if Riojas goes longer.

Let Riojas go as long as possible. Save the pen.

Some of these guys calling the college games remind me of Eschenfelder.

Wright State is going to give me a heart attack.

Meanwhile, high drama in WCWS:

UCLA, down to their last out, hits game tying HR.

Batter misses home plate, is directed by teammates to go back and touch it.

Replay review lasts 15 minutes.

Umpires say that she did miss home plate, but it turns out that it’s not reviewable.

Vols coach loses her shit, and they protest.

ETA: because it’s not a reviewable play, the protest can’t be filed.

Wright State with some luck there. Need to take advantage.

How can failure to touch a base not be reviewable?
