In an ugly one (neith starting pitcher had their best stuff), BatCats fell to Stanford 15-8 last night. They play tempe normal today, who knocked off Nike U in yesterday’s elimination game. I’m sure it won’t be chippy at all…

The #1 seed in the Big XII tournament has fallen as TCU is defeated by Oklahoma State. The Cowboys will try to win a pair from the Longhorns tomorrow.
My alma mater beats tempe normal school 8-6.

Kansas eliminates Texas Tech 6-5 in 11 innings. Tech fell under the “Curse of the 27th Out” and lost all chance of a seed in the NCAA.
Kansas State will try to win two from Oklahoma tomorrow.
Oklahoma State beats Texas 8-1 to force a decisive second game in the Conference semi-finals. The winner will play Oklahoma who eliminated Kansas State 4-3 earlier today.
Texas has no rested reliable pitching. Longhorn fans buckle up.

Great win by the Horns. 5 pitchers got it done, 5 unearned runs courtesy of Okie State sure helped, as did 6 2-out rbi. 9-2 final.

You think they’ll throw him tomorrow? I was assuming another bullpen game.
At any rate, Stevens stepping up and a slight uptick from some of the other assorted pen guys gives me some hope for the tourney. Some good innings from Nixon tomorrow would be a positive sign also.
Nixon is the wild card. If he can throw multiple innings we win, imo.
Watching UTenn as a UH fan, and then looking at their stats…. Damn Frank Anderson is an absolute bad ass. Has to be the best pitching coach in America.

When he was at UH we had a top 10 staff for 3 years, now he goes to UT and they are just as good.

UTSA, the 5th seed, having knocked off #1 seed Southern Miss twice, loses a heartbreaker to LA Tech in the CUSA final. Still hoping they can get in

On another note, I doubt we see Nixon in any meaningful situations going forward in the tourney.
Probably shouldn’t swing when you’re down 7 and runners are on 2nd and 3rd. Just be patient, plenty more chances…
Auburn somehow got a regional host assignment. They didn’t play like they were one of the top 16 teams in the last week of the season.
The Big XII places five of their nine teams in the tournament. Kansas State was not, but could have been in my opinion, included. Nevertheless, 56% percent of the league made the Tournament, a fine showing.
Oklahoma State is the highest seeded Big XII team at #7. They will host Missouri State, Arkansas, and Grand Canyon U. and will host a Super Regional if they prevail.
Texas has a #9 seed and will host Air Force, La. Tech, and Dallas Baptist.
Texas Tech will not be hosting for the first time in several years and are only a #3 Regional seed in the lowest ranked Regional. If they can win against host #16 Ga. Southern, Notre Dame, and UNC Greenville they most likely will play at Tennessee for the Super Regional. Tech’s prospects for the CWS are not good.
TCU will play in College Station against #5 Texas A&M, La. Lafayette, and Oral roberts.
Oklahoma will play in Gainsville against #13 Florida, Central Michigan, and Liberty U.
Texas hosts and OU doesn’t? That’ll get the hackles up in Norman.
