Co-ards at Astros, 6/4/24

Ok, it’s about my bed time. I made four innings tonight.

This is weird… the Astros aren’t coming out of the dugout for the top of the 6th. TK said there was something going on in the dugout and they went to commercial.

Medical situation in the Astros’ dugout. That doesn’t sound good.

I’m having Dierker flashbacks

Now they’re coming onto the field.

On a side note, I’m not sure Mattress Mac understands what “non scratch proof” means.

Medical situation was a non-life threatening situation involving a non-uniformed person. So that’s good.

And it’s quickly 7-4

That’s been bugging me since the first time I saw that commercial.

I have no idea how anyone makes out anything Mattress Mack says. He sounds like Boomhauer on speed.

Dubon wouldn’t have come up with it but kick that fan in the nuts anyway.

Steve Bartman in right field.

Dubon had a shot at it. The fan’s hand interfered with his glove.

I remember a quote from one of the ballpark architects during construction about the low RF wall, specifically designed for exciting leaps into the stands with fans right in the middle of the action.

Yeah, but you would hope that Astros’ fans would understand to not interfere with an Astros’ player. We all know that’s not the case, though. People are drawn to getting baseballs at games.

Whew. Abreu punches out Donovan with the bases loaded to keep it 7-5 going to the bottom of the seventh.

The Astros could really use some insurance runs.

Peña’s revamped swing is the one feel-good story of this season.

ETA: Caratini has been a pleasant surprise, too.

Memo to TK: Ryan Pressly should not be used in the eighth inning right now.

Pressly had better not be pitching the 8th.

I like Caratini. Job well done.
