CFB 2022

I’m surprised they haven’t just fired him anyway even with the win. Once you know you are going to fire somebody, might as well do it now. Win or no win, everybody knows he will be gone, why wait?

Western Kentucky put up 73 this weekend by the way

I’m glad to see Tennessee coming back from the abyss. The SEC is better when they are good.
That is really a pretty setting for a college BTW.

I realize this isn’t big boy big conference football but the only team we have in Idaho

Boise State got embarrassed by UTEP last week.

The HC fired the OC and then the 4th yr starting QB entered the transfer portal.

You’ll always have the Statue of Liberty play.

What happened to the program?

Basically in college football the only way to have continued success is to be in a power 5 conference.
( I know you all know this)

This doesn’t guarantee success but without that any success is short lived.

BSU has not been able to get into a major conference. Mostly its because of academic standards. Many view BSU as a glorified community or junior college ( which it started as). Things such as graduate and specialty programs are not up to other university standards.

Anyway. They have not been able to keep coaches ( Chris Petersen went to Washington, Bryan Harsin went to Auburn) and constant transition has hurt.

They had a 12-15 year run with great coaching and recruiting but have settled at a level about middle of the pack in their current conference the past 4 or 5 years

Edit: To be honest the academic issues are the excuses the conferences use to explain why they keep passing over them. The truth is that Boise is not among the top 100 in media market size and therefore doesn’t move the needle on putting $$$ in University presidents pockets

Woah! Bachmier quit? As someone who watches them a lot, it’s crumbling under Avalos. They didn’t look good week 1 and have gotten worse.

That being said, there’s no reason for them not to succeed. It’s a pretty rabid fan base for G5, and they’ve been able to sustain success for a long while without being in P5.

It is interesting though that Dirk Cutter took over as OC.

They have a game tomorrow night vs San Diego State ( conference game)

Until then they may be the only team in college football history without a single QB that has ever started a college game 5 games into a season.

2 redshirt freshmen, 2 true freshmen

Yeah, so at a glance I completely misread the OC’s name in that first sentence.

Prepare yourself accordingly, HH

I’m sure it’s been discussed elsewhere here, but why do we care about the American League home run record?

Btw, Houston looks pretty awful so far. Uninspired, poor tackling.

They’re still all tuckered out from last week’s struggle with Rice.

Coogs take the lead with 3:04 to go. 21-14 UH.

Tulane ties the game with their 3rd string QB.

Coogs have 39 seconds.

It’s OT for Tulane and the Cougars. Normal situation for UH.

Tulane wins 27-24 in OT.

I was at the game, so I was spared Aaron Judge. But not Dana Holgorsen.

What a difference 5 days and an NFL calibur OC can make !!
