Baseball Video Games

My dad had saved his 1962 APBA card set and I played that with him growing up, as well as the 1970 Sports Illustrated Baseball.

+1 on Baseball Stars – I made the Astros, my high school team etc. on there as a kid, and introduced my kids to it a year or so ago. Definitely their favorite of all the NES ones I still have.

Personally, I was also big on the original RBI Baseball for NES, and Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball for SNES. I probably spent more hours playing Griffey than any other baseball game I ever owned. It felt the best combination of realistic and yet “video-gamey” – guys snapping their bats over their knees after striking out, or blowing bubbles (Steve Finley was one) while batting.
