OFers are coached to back up or cover bases just like everyone else. At least they should be.
I assumed so. In this situation, does the left fielder just make his best decision on whether to cover 2B or 3B? 3B would seem like a more logical choice.
Probably 3B assuming the CFer is coming to 2B. The basic principle is never leave a base uncovered.
The LFer went to back up 2B. There ended up two baserunners there and the 3Bman, 1Bman, and pitcher were all pointing to the catcher to throw to 2B, and the SS was at 2B calling for it, so Iām assuming thatās where the LFer thought the throw would go. He was in shallow CF to back up a throw had it. But the throw went to 3B and there was no one there behind the bag.
EDIT:
Hereās a picture of when the catcher lobs the ball into LF, and you can see where everyone is.
Yeah, it looked to me like everybody but the catcher thought there was going to be a rundown between 2nd and 3rd.
Mets batters have been hit 19 times in 20 games this year; Alonso four times, twice in the head according to an article in todayās New York Times.
Iām struggling with the issue here.
And they havenāt even played the Yankees yet.
Picture Kylo Ren yelling āMore!ā
The latest bunch came against the turdinals.
Arreola for mad at a pitch up and in and threw a hissy fit.

Tally for the series goes:
Mon: 1 Met
Tues: 3 Met, 2 Coard
Wed: 1 Met, 1 Coard, then the up and in to Arenado brought the expected response
The Mets have been getting hit all year, with lots of head and face shots mixed in.
Showalter has been leading from the front with a low boil irritability. He said, At some point intention doesnāt matter.
I would expect nothing less from Showalter, and without seeing any of their game Iāll guess and say heās not wrong.
Any pitchers been thrown out against them so far?
I think only one, and that was under kind of headscratching circumstances. The Met batter was buzzed but not hit IIRC and there was a bit of gorilla dust and the pitcher was tossed because of his reaction or something.
Agree.
Showalter isnāt wrong. Donāt pitch inside if you canāt control your shit.
Heās still an asshole.
Yeah, I donāt feel bad for him.
Definitely.
File that under āFuck that sack of shitā
Itās about damn time.
