When do the rosters have to be set?
I will forever not understand how they decide these things. Usually it apprears to be market size but Houston is BY FAR the biggest market of any team playing besides the Mets. Baltimore and Kansas City get a later game? Really? BALTIMORE AND KANSAS CITY a better draw than HOUSTON? Fuck off
But, cheating.
Get the mute button ready, apparently Micheal Kay(Yankees pbp guy) is on the call for the Astros game. You can’t make this shit up. Fuck you ESPN
For those of you looking for a drinking game, drink when he brings up trash cans or shit strapped on Altuve’s chest.
I’ll be staying sober, so I’ll wait for mentions of Apple Watches.
What, was Joe Kelly unavailable?
Worrell button for me.
First game should be in the bag: I’ll be on an airplane and unable to watch.
I’ll be on the road to Ft Worth, hopefully I’ll get there by 2:00pm to catch most of the game…
MLB announced that they’re ditching the special all-star uniforms and that the players will wear their team’s uniforms again in the ASG.
They’re also walking back a lot of the changes made to the regular uniforms that caused so much fuss during spring training. Players liked the old material, lettering, etc. and it sounds like they’re going back to the pre-2024 versions for a lot of that stuff.
The Giants just announced they’ve fired Farhan Zaidi and named Buster Posey (!) their new President of Baseball Operations. It does not appear to be an interim appointment.
No announcement made regarding GM Pete Putila, so he may be sticking around.
This is all fantastic news. I really missed having players wear the team jerseys at the all star game. Having 30 different jerseys in the same game is so unique
If anyone wants to go to this, as Bench guessed, they have a 1/2 price code now: SALEBIZ50. Now advertising “notable derby pitchers Roy Oswalt, Mike Stanton, and John Rocker (?!)”. I’m still not going but if this is your cup of tea, it’s now 50% cheaper.
Mets attempting a comeback in the 8th, 2 on no out 3-2 Braves
…and it’s tied, 3-run 8th and still no outs
Now 6-3 Mets. Mets still batting in the 8th with one out.
Well, the fucking Mets have busted this one open. Now 6-3, 1 out, top 8
I just hope whoever loses this one loses the next one.
The Braves seriously brought in a pitcher named Bummer after giving up six runs.

Cards are cutting payroll, so their higher-paid players may be going on the block. Perennial gold glove 3B Nolan Arenado is under contract through 2027.
After subtracting the amounts the Rox are still paying, his salaries are 27M, 22M, and 15M for each of those seasons.
Just a thought.
