This was the one error.
The Red Sox lost a similar game last week on an easier catch which would have ended the game with a win. The next batter lined a ball one inch above the lip of the LF wall. RS lost, and the closer stayed on the mound for quite a while.
Another summary with a bit more context.
Today the Angels today were beating Toronto 6-0 after 5 innings.
Then were losing 10-6 after 7.
Tied it up at 10 in the 9th.
Then lost in 10, 12-11.
Edited to add: Ohtani was up with the bases juiced and 2 outs and hit in to a 4-3 to end it.
Rays are 9-0
75 runs scored
18 runs allowed

I think they’re coming off consecutive 11-0 victories.
From a newsletter I get from the Athletic:
The Rays’ first three opponents — the Tigers, Nationals and A’s — already are in last place, with a combined 7-12 record against other clubs. For the Rays, the fun should only continue. Only six of their next 23 games are against teams that finished last season with a winning record. After that, they play 23 straight against teams that were above .500 a year ago.
We will selectively ignore that two of those 7 wins are against the Astros
Not sure if its been discussed. We used to be able to watch the Astros through the ATT app, that went away last year or the year before. I recently realized that I can stream Astros games on my iPad using the new and improved DirecTV app. I cant watch the Astros through my browser accessing DTV, but it works with their App.
After straining…his vagina?
It’s hardly surprising that a giant dick like that would pull a groin.
She probably just got a little sand in it.
When I’m away from Austin and can’t watch the Astros on the stupendous Direct TV, I’ll just access the game on the Direct TV app, pulling it from my recordings.
It worked fine in dallass last week when I was in recurrent training and worked fine at my Mom’s (she doesn’t love her youngest son MikeS, btw) in San Antonio tonight.
I’ve given up on ever using the MLB TV app on planet earth given their ludicrous blackout territory (my buddy at Hawaiian Airlines in Honolulu is a big padres fan and can’t even watch out there, fuck you, rob manfred).
I watched the opening day game via DirecTV on a browser. I don’t know what sort of voodoo I did, but I did it. I’ll look into the app, sounds like a good idea.
Chuck, do that voodoo you do!
I will, once again, trumpet the magic of a VPN and a mlb.tv subscription.
I haven’t missed a game I want to watch so far, and I don’t have a cable subscription at all.
MLB.tv free with my T-Mobile service on my phone (it’s too late to sign up now, sadly) and the VPN is a borrowed login from a buddy, but I’d pay the 6 dollars a month without a second thought just to watch the Astros.
Editing to add: Most VPN apps these days are installable on your phone as well.
