See Alvarez, Yordan. Who else saw that? The Dodgers even thought they wanted the ‘other’ one.
Ok, Walt. I give up. Believe whatever you want about me. I have been as nice as I can be to OWA folks I know personally off the board, and if people I have met and know said unflattering things about me, I am more than surprised. I do not care at all what posters who do not know me say or think.
FWIW.
There have been many times that I have felt personally attacked by Jim for my comments or questions.
There are times I have reacted defensively and been thin skinned.
I often find Jim to be crotchety " get off my lawn" guy.
But I don’t recall him ever being profaine or disrespectful in his comments towards me.
I enjoy the content and insight the members here provide( especially Jim) so when that happens I just take a breath, back off for a day or so.
I try to remember that any single confrontation or viewpoint is not the sum of any person.
Then I forget it happened and moved on.
Nobody has ever given me further problems or held it against me.
I have always felt welcome and 90% of the time am happy here.
Thats my philosophy about being here.
If thats not helpful or welcome- Sorry I’ll wait for the backlash and be back in a couple of days LOL.
This is ridiculous. I do not know how long I have been posting here, but it has been a very long time. I enjoy close friendships with several current and former posters. I do not think I am “crotchety” or “get off my lawn”, but I do not suffer fools gladly. I despise attacks on current players. If I am considered to be unflattering things, so be it. There is an obvious solution.
I suggest everyone take a step back, read the thread just posted in the TZ, and hit the reset button.
Button reset.
Like everyone else on here I respect Jim’s baseball acumen. And when he talks about a Gordon Lakey or a Roosevelt Leaks I think it is just cool as hell.
I like his stories about Moses too.
I babysat him.
I feel like this is all my fault for posting that tweet in this thread instead of the Astros Prospect Rankings thread. My bad.
You’re really not that much older than me. But I didn’t know him until he was a teen.
Good kid. I knew he’d go far.
Butterfly effect
I apologize Jim.
I did not mean that to be insulting.
It was actually supposed to be a bit of a defense of you but went off the rails.
Many times I have not agreed with your responses to me but they hsve never been unacceptable or disrespectful.
Thats all I meant.
So YOU’RE the one that left him out in the river?
The little guy wanted to swim.
between an injury and his bat it was somewhat iffy on pena. His glove was never in doubt. Last year he showed a lot in AAA with the bat. We have been blessed that it has carried with him.
I completely missed Baltimore pulling within 3 of the WC.
They’ve been playing respectably of late.
If they can manage a WC in that division, Elias and the manager deserve lifetime extensions.
Chris Sale returned tonight for Boston. Tossed 5 scoreless innings against the Rays but TB still ended up winning 3-2.
This play ranks up there with some of the ridiculous Astros fails from 2013:
