Saw a great meme: a guy in a Dodger cap saying “Y’all got any more of those 60 game seasons?”. LOL… Fuck the Dodgers.
Dave Chappelle as his crackhead “Tyrone Biggums” character
So I was looking back at the entire WC era(DS only), wanted to see if higher seeds losing is a now problem or a recurring one. I had some interesting takeaways.
Higher seeds are 71-45 overall but 28-28 since 2010
1.5 higher seeds lose in the division series, per season on average
Three higher seeds lost in 03, 06, 12, 21 and 23. All four higher seeds moved on in 95, 09 and 18
There hasn’t been a year where all 4 higher seeds lost
11 of the previous 14 years 2 or more higher seeds have lost
My personal favorite, if you remove the Astros wins, higher seeds have gone 9-12 vs lower seeds in the DS for the last 7 years
I love the Philly Phanatic, and now this!
Phillies putting it to the DBacks.
I think the DBacks’ coach turns into a pumpkin in this series.
The Phillies are clearly the best team left at this point.
I agree. A Rangers-Phillies series could be entertaining were it not for the existential dread of seeing the Rangers as champs.
If I gave a flying fuck about the Rangers. The Astros are the only team that matters. To anyone anymore, even Ranger fans.
Phillies’ Dominguez channeling his inner Framber. Top of the 7th, runner on 1B. Comebacker, perfect double play ball, throws it into CF. Now Snakes on the corners, no outs, tying run at the plate.
Now a line drive double play, that will be overturned. Runner was safe at 1B by like two feet. How the fuck does an umpire blow that call that badly.
You know, the Phillies have assembled a pretty nice team. I underestimated Bohm and Stott; their infield is pretty solid.
If Wheeler and Nola are dealing like they have, the Phillies are damn hard to beat in a series.
Horrendous pitching change by the Dbacks in the 6th inning. Dude was dealing, no reason whatsoever to pull him.
I think the DBacks brain trust decided long ago that the Phils weren’t going to get a third look at him.
DBacks waste a leadoff double (and a hanging slider). It looked painfully familiar.
D Backs leave the go-ahead run on 3rd. Couldn’t get him in with one out. No score after 6.
This game has gotten a lot more interesting.
Dbacks waste another chance to get the lead. 1st and 3rd no outs, but double play and gound out ends it
Alvarado coaxes a preposterous 6-4-3 with the infield in and a runner at third—who can’t advance—and the next guy grounds out 1-3 and there endeth the threat.
But the DBacks tie it.
