I’m telling you, having a schedule against lousy teams is not the gift the pundits would have you believe. I will absolutely not be surprised if we get swept by these guys.
Sweet Jesus, Joe. Just walk out there and forfeit.
Man, the A’s hit the jackpot with Kurtz.
OPEN THE ROOF, THERE’S STILL TIME
Better luck tomorrow. I have to do something, anything but watch this.
Kurtz is definitely a player but when Blum says he put on a show to the opposite field during batting practice before yesterday‘s game…and then he hurt you to the opposite field on pitches middle away yesterday and you continue at bat after a bat to play into that game plan by throwing pitches away and letting him hammer the ball the other way, you effectively turn him into a fucking modern day version of Babe Ruth.
Yeah, but it’s not just the Astros fucking up. I went ahead and bought the MLB streaming package a few weeks ago, so I’ve been watching a lot of games I wouldn’t have otherwise seen, and this guy is hurting everybody. Legitimate left-handed power plays everywhere.
I’ll take your word for it, but if we don’t try and work him in on the next bat, I think I’m going to lose my mind.
Bye, bye, mind.
Mind officially lost.
Very mindful of you, Mark.
Welp. That happened. Kurtz blasts another fucking home run and becomes the first A’s rookie with a five hit game since Ben Grieve in 1998.
The latter fact is because I have to listen to the A’s broadcast since I live in the Bay Area, which, admittedly, isn’t nearly as condescending a commentary as it was when Ray Fasse was in the booth (R.I.P.).
ETA - now 11-2 in favor of the West Sacramento Athletics baseball team. Fuck.
WTF are these dumbass hats they’re wearing? No wonder they’re getting their shit kicked in.
The Astros got their shit kicked in during the first inning. What’s happening right now, there are few words in the English language to describe this level of buggery and deviant behavior.
I’m very glad I’m no longer watching.
I am not a happy man.
Also, according to the A’s broadcast, Nick Kurtz is the second coming of the messiah and we should all bask in his glory. After tonight, not quite sure they’re wrong.
Trammell strikes out to end the 8th inning and stranding Cam Smith at second. Astros three outs away from asking Jim Jones for a refill of their dixie cups.
And now Cooper Hummel pitching in relief for the top of the ninth. Anyone have some bourbon I can borrow for a spell?
Cooper pumping 84
