Astros @ Yankees, 6/25/22

I think Stanek has the stuff and attitude to be the closer.

Pressly came out and pitched today though. Kudos on him putting it behind him.

And what can we say about Javier.

That that was mighty fine.

Fuck yeah!

Even better.

Stanek ain’t the closer. Pressly is his name.

It gets better though. The Astros threw the last no-hitter ever at the old Yankee Stadium and the first ever at the new Yankee Stadium. Pretty fitting if you ask me

What an absolute bed-shitting the last few innings were, but it worked out pretty well in the end.

Blum flat-out said “this is like trying to play against 10 guys.”

Just saw two of those calls on MLB’s Quick Pitch. Unbelievable. That ump scorecard is going to be embarrasing. For both the ump and the Yankees.

Sparks said “This guy is flipping a coin.”

Past performance “may” indicate future results - great stats from this article:
(Edited) BA for every Yankee - other than Isiah Kiner-Falefa - after Javier finished the 7th yesterday - 1 for 47 (“not a typo”).

Note: Searched, but could not verify this stat.

My confession:

My law school friends and I left the place we started and moved to Turnstile, which has become Mark’s #1 beer place. Mark was with us there and got them to put the game on TV. It was the 6th inning, and Mark said the guy said NYY had no hits. I did not hear him, and when the game ended, I could not understand why the Astros were celebrating like they were on the field. Finally “no hitter” dawned on me, and I announced “no hitter!” to our group as though no one but I knew. Mark looked at me like DUH!

The most surprising thing about this is that there was a call that went the Astros’ way.
