A well deserved L.
You have two guys on the team with no prayer of getting a hit, and they both play the same offense-first position.
What a shit game.
I’d like to think he’ll find his way, but yeah, he should know better.
When the Royals tied the game I quit watching and got up to do some things, run some errands, etc. I followed the game on the radio, but I knew perfectly well that they would lose and I didn’t feel like investing the time to the oncoming shitshow when I had other things I could be doing. Sad, but there it is.
I really thought Espada was going to be GREAT, and, in all honesty, it seems like he’s been a net negative.
Everything about how this team is playing starts with the Manager.
This.
KC has never been an easy W. Look at our hits.
Sorry, I got in late. Hits have already been mentioned.
Fuck Espada, and fuck Jose Abreu and Jon Singleton.
This team is a walking fucking dumpster fire and I absolutely hate everything about it from the coaching down so far.
Why pitch to Perez with a base open in the 10th?! He’s their best clutch hitter by FUCKING MILES.
You get a dot strike on the guy then throw one right down the fucking middle.
I hate this team.
Edit to add: Fuck Chas as well. STOP SWINGING AT PITCHES THAT WILL HIT YOU YOU STUPID FUCKING PRICK.
I’m baffled as to why Yordan is batting 2nd. He needs every opportunity to drive in as many runs as possible. He’s a perfect 3-4 hitter. Bregman simply is not a cleanup hitter.
Don’t forget the GM dousing the whole thing in kerosene.
He essentially pinch hit for Dubon twice; once with Singleton and once with Meyers, including latter with the winning run in scoring position and nobody out. He pitched to their best hitter with the game on the line. It’s like he didn’t think anything through beyond that specific moment. There was no strategy involved.
That said…14 hits, a walk, and a free runner at 2B with nobody out and you score a grand total of 3 fucking runs? Part of it is lineup construction, sure, putting guys in spots where they can do the most to kill scoring chances…but good fucking grief, offense.
I’m way past that point with Abreu. Someone like Brandon Belt needs to be signed today or give Loperfido his chance at the big league level. Loperfido’s strikeout rate is not ideal, but he’s at least doing damage in AAA. Abreu is pretty much an automatic out right now.
