Astros quickly out in front by two in the top of the first on an infield hit by Myers, a solid single to left by Altuve and an RBI double Cam Smith followed by an RBI ground out by Walker.
1B, 2 Ks and a HR tie it up in the bottom of 1.
That ball just kept on floating.
Hummel with a leadoff walk, scores on a 2 out Paredes 2B to RCF
That Estrada homer is listed on baseball savant as a HR in 30/30 parks with a .190 expected batting average
We seem to have turned Estrada into Aaron Judge.
And I’m getting tired of these Colorado dinks and doinks.
I’ve laughed at that discrepancy in the past, and finally investigated it some time back.
HR in X/30 parks only takes into account the distance and where it’s hit
the xBA takes into account exit velocity, launch angle, sprint speed of the runner (on certain ground balls) but where the ball is hit is not factored in
I know, I still find it funny though
…especially since they’re listed right next to each other on baseball savant.
Grrr. Frustrating game so far. And I don’t want to go to LA with a used-up bullpen.
Why would you ever play the infield in at Coors before the bottom of the last inning?
Walter is going 5 innings or 100 pitches today, whichever comes last
The same reason they were playing “no doubles” in the OF last night in the 9th with a 3 run lead?
Cam continues to impress!!
He’s out
I’d like to get Weems out of there.
Well shit. That’s that. On the plus side, Cam is hitting .291 now.
