I went back and watched the bottom of the 9th. That guy De La Cruz is a terror. He beats out an infield hit then easily steals second, strolls home on a ground ball single to right.

That’s a genuine lead.
The Astros still have to make up a game if they want to win the division. That’s genuinely not a lead.

Seems to me you are assuming Seattle will win both the games they need to catch Houston in the win column.
I’m not assuming anything. You cannot make up losses. It requires the Mariners to lose again while the Astros win. That’s just the mathematical fact.
