Garneau has historically been a pretty good defensive catcher. I expected him to be that with the Astros. I knew he couldn’t hit. I’ve been disappointed in his defense.
Nope. But we have had some decent backups in recent years including Machete, the Gattis experiment. Stassi is having a good year in Anaheim.
Of course not everyone can be Tony Eusebio.

Chirinos/Machete is by far the best catching Houston has ever had. Last year was historically a great team.
