Two games in this series are directly a result of Dusty Baker’s inexcusable incompetence as a baseball manager.
I am Jack’s complete lack of surprise.
1st and 3rd no outs. What will kill this rally? Pop ups and Ks. Even a DP scores one.
Correa foul pop up 3
Bregman K
Rally killed.
They imply, you infer.
Correa swings at a ball and pops out.
Bregman takes a fastball down the middle. Fouls one back. Excuse me swings to punch out.
Oh, by the way, anyone who bats Correa second in the lineup is drunk or an idiot.
Imagine if Brantley had followed Altuve in the 10th. I didn’t understand why Correa was in the two spot. But I’m just a fan.
Because it is Dusty Baker. You are a knowledgeable fan.
Possibly both.
Urge to kill…rising
That is just fucking incompetence. Garcia fucking killed us all weekend, and he meant exactly dick. There is no excuse whatsoever, no non-completely insane fucking reason, to not walk Garcia there.
Not to mention walking him sets up the DP.
Boom.
Same pitch, same ground ball to the next hitter and it’s a dp.
Just stupid not to walk him.
I’m done with Dusty.
Welcome aboard. Your membership packet should arrive in 3 to 5 business days.
Any decent manager walks Garcia to set up a potential inning-ending double play with the winning run at third base and one out. Of course, it’s not like the Astros deserved a better fate after Correa and Bregman both failed to drive Castro in from third base with less than two outs in the top half of the inning.
Yay. Pressly jammed the heck out of a hitter that simply had to avoid popping up or striking out to plate the winning run. Does Baker realize how stupid that quote makes him look?
TY, Devin,
I muted the message b/c I did not realize that announcers could freely offer candidly critiques of the team that paid their salary.
This idiocy aged like fine milk.
I suppose the Astros just weren’t up to playing San Diego in extras the last few nights too.
