And they are back tomorrow

Oh BTW, magic number is now 7

I’m not exaggerating. I honestly can’t say I’ve ever seen worse in any sport ever.

I’m pretty sure I’ve witnessed events that were likely fixed and it wasn’t this bad. I think you’ll see better officiating in the WWF.

What a fugly fucking game.

As many have Cabrea’d, bring on the robo umps.

PS- glad Altuve toed the line in getting ejected.

Would love to see a Lenscrafter booth put behind home plate with a table full of glasses (one table brown and the other orange) to commemorate this event of the worst officiated baseball game this century.

Videos would be hilarious, as would the responses of the players!

Does Sports Center tee-off on umps, or do they have to toe the company line?

Also, mad fucking props and or daps and high fives for Grae Kessinger snagging that ball up the middle to get the last out.

Slurp shit, Blue/Umps.

I just got home… what the fuck did I miss!?

C’mon, You DVR’d it.

I’m to the point where I will not feel an ounce of sympathy when a bunch of umpires lose their jobs due to the automatic strike zone. Tonight was embarrassing on both sides, and it started in the first inning with a horrible strike zone that messed with Yainer’s head in a first and third situation. Then, you have the BS they pulled in the 8th inning to ā€œcheck the rulesā€ on disengagements and ice Hader to later ejecting Altuve for rightfully telling them he was hit on the foot by a pitch.

Unfortunately, I didn’t. But I’m trying to catch up now. My drunk brain is very confused and upset that I missed the madness. I live for chaos

Well this was an elevated level of officiating chaos. I don’t know how those guys can don the blue suits tomorrow without an apology. At least an off-the -record
sort.

Considering the state of umpiring across MLB, that’s saying something.

All credibility was lost tonite.

The pucker-factor of tonight’s game sucked.

It made the ride worth it though

I don’t know what to say, dude. It was the worst performance I have ever seen from an umpire crew. No Angel, no Bucknor, no West, no legendarily terrible umpire. This was an example of ball strike incompetence, both sides, mostly against the Astros, but OK, terrible calls with respect to fair/foul, hit by pitch, etc., and incredible lack of understanding of basic rules of play.

It was a performance that merits the suspension of every motherfucker on that crew. And guess what? Poll any random Padres fan and they would tell you the same thing. It was a shocking display of incompetence, absolutely shocking.

Crew chief displayed no sign of control over his crew.

Modern umpiring, while a challenging and difficult job admittedly, reminds me of many of the Check Pilots/instructors I’ve rubbed elbows with in my airline flying career- infallible in their own minds/Godlike, in an elect and mutually-felating group, arrogant and devoid of outside input, ala, ā€œHow dare you question me?? I know the book!ā€

Fun fact I just learned:

This is the same crew that completely botched the Bregman HBP in Cincy as well.
