Sweet!!!
Some highlights from the box score:
- All six Astrosâ runs were w/ 2-out
- Only one runner left in scoring position, 2 out (Correa, but he made up for it).
- Only one of the six inherited runners scored vs Astros relievers (Y Garcia 1-0, Maton 2-1, & Taylor 3-0)
Outstanding!!!
I was convinced SD was going to win after they got the double steal.
To that point they were chipping away/applying pressure.
Huge K by Taylor.
Urquidyâs hit was great. Maybe he gave Jake some pointers about how to hit to the right side with authority.
Interesting thought about last night: a couple folks wondered about the double switch in the 7th that left Meyers in the game in the nine spot and moved the pitcher to the seven hole. It meant in the 9th you had Correa/Alvarez/Maldonado/ due up rather than Correa/McCormick/Maldonado. Did it make a difference? Maybe McCormick doubles with one out and Alvarez drives him in from the nine spot. Maybe not. Maybe Alvarez doesnât even get a chance to hit in this game. We will never know. But that double switch made sure Alvarez got an at bat, and Meyers with a chance to punch another run across. I liked the move from Dusty.
Waiting for an analysis from someone about what is up with Graveman. Have not seen anything about âdiscomfort.â
Havenât seen anything either, but he sure hasnât looked comfortable the last week.
Lots of walks and 1 or 2 HBP.
Iâm guessing if they thought there was anything the least but wrong physically theyâd shut him down to maximize his chances of being healthy for the postseason.
But who knows?
Iâve noticed some discomfort when Graveman pitches.
He was hard to watch last night. Totally out of sorts.
