You can fly from Austin to Sea-Tac and be there at the stadium well in time to be drunk when you kick him in the nuts.
Sounds like a great trip.
Transcript of Dusty being asked about Graveman. Spoiler alert: he got a little touchy.
Hadnāt heard an āIām the managerā yet this year
Sounds like the game got a bit sketchy, but thereās nothing like waking up to a fresh new dawn to find the marONRs suckinā hind teat on an old momma seal.
All Dusty has to say:
We really havenāt decided on a set role for any reliever other than Pressly.
We think having multiple guys who can pitch in late inning/ high leverage spots is an asset. And weāll continue to use Stanek and Graveman interchangeably until it becomes clear we shouldnāt.
OR
I had to use Stanek because he already warmed up. After I told him to.
I am very ok with #1 for the 8th inning. Stanek was in that 8th inning role before we got Graveman, and he has been pitching well. Having two shutdown guys for the 8th makes the pen stronger and may allow Graveman to spell Pressly in the 9th if he is unavailable.
Now what about the 7th? Maton with a short leash? Yimi? Taylor? If all three are rested, Stanek can slide there. I wish Montero were healthy. I hate the 3-hitter rule, btw, and last night was a good example of why.
I hope like hell Click has offered already or will propose a new contract for Graveman.
ETA: I actually am ok with #2 also. Getting up and and warming up several times does not help relievers. Those are pitches which should be counted at least in the managerās head.
