Astros @ Guardians, 8/4/22

Chas Ks swinging.

Slider up in the middle of the zone.

This looks like quality defense.

Dubón grounds to 2nd, Peña eludes the tag, 2nd baseman falls down so everybody is safe.

Swinging bunt from Maldy moves them over.

Altuve walks on 4 pitches.

Yuli grounds into a 5-4 FC.

Dinnertime for me.

Ok, 4 hits and 2 walks in 2 innings and zero runs.

Meanwhile, angels hit 7 HR (all solo) and lost 8-7 to Oakland.

That’s the most Angels thing I have ever seen. And I’ve seen some things that are pretty fucking Angels

This Cleveland team is playing some shitty ass defense.

Chas rolls one up the middle that neither infielder can make a play on.

Run scores, Peña holds at second.

1-0 with 2 outs.

I don’t think there was a play at first if 2B picks it but who knows.

Now a walk loads them up again.

Maldy Ks swinging.

1-0 Astros.

JV uncharacteristically wild here in B3.

Since this is the first year of the “Guardians” nickname, does that make all of their players OG?

So that’s what the kids call it now.

I am sure this is brilliant repartee, but I don’t get it.

It’s heartening to see any other team lose futile games to the As.

Is that a short right field fence? Does the stadium favor left handers?

ETA: apparently both left and right are 325 feet. Rt in Yankee stadium is 314. MMPUS is 326. I guess not.

clearly Dubon’s ball, but it looked like he was completely silent.

That’s 96 pitches for Verlander. Will he pitch the 7th? Your guess is as good as Dusty’s.
