This ump blows

He’ll be 97%/97% tomorrow morning.

A coaching tip often is “catch the ball with the bat.” Do not jab at it, and the barrel needs to be out in front of the plate, not at an angle.

Depends on if you’re dragging it or straight up sacrificing. On a sac, yes, you want soft hands and a soft bat, if that makes any sense. Jim can teach it better.

Much obliged.

Have loved baseball for decades, but much to learn.

That upper deck is completely empty

Same here Snuffy. Was an ump for over a decade, but I learned a lot more about rules and case decisions than batting strategy.

Thanks Lefty.

Nice job, Hunter. I assume he’s done now and it’s fingernail chewing time.

Julks!

Oh don’t thank me. I hated bunting, it was a phobia with me. I always thought, no matter how much I practiced and had my hands right, that the ball was going to hit my fingers.

I’d broken 4 fingers and a thumb at that point (middle schoolish) doing various sport or dumb things, and I just wanted nothing to do with it for mental fear of another.

Julks deployed his helmet as a countermeasure on that steal.

Bend over, Maldy.

Good lord in heaven. Not close.

It throws off the guidance system.

Horseshit

There’s really no reason for the umpires to be this bad.

There’s a larger narrative at work here.

Between yesterday’s ridiculous calls, and today’s, I think the umps are playing to the crowd.
