Astros @ Dodgers 6/25/2023

If it was not, it should have been.

Martinez probably gonna have the 11th???

This team is so incredibly frustrating. Besides using Montero in a 4-1 game in the eighth, you have Meyers not scoring a run in the 5th inning when he was on second and Dubon singled to left center, Julks bad baserunning in the 10th inning and Maldonado not executing two bunts.

Not sure I remember a year where we needed so many changes in the team at the deadline -

Lefty bat
Starter
Reliever
Possible Abreu replacement (not saying we should)

Crazy this season…

This. But we got free baseball.

I don’t think trades are going to completely fix what is currently ailing this team. They are beating themselves in some phase every night and not doing the little things well.

Good start
6-5 Stros

You listed several lack of fundamental examples. Add Dusty in games, and hide.

Tuck F9, Out 1

Had to add this? As AFiBD said yesterday, he is improving. 2 hits and an RBI yesterday, 2-run homer today.

We don’t have the resources in our system to get all of that, and I’m not sure we have the resources in the system to get any of that. At least not high quality pieces. Gonna be a sellers market with all these teams still in play. Trades are gonna be costly and if this team doesn’t improve its play and give you a reason to make a trade, I hold on to what little assets I’ve got. And I sell fringe pieces if anyone wants them.

But that’s me. Still hoping this team turns it around and gives you a reason to think they could even win a playoff series.

I think with Maldonado it was simply a sacrifice bunt to move Meyers over.

That run is all thanks to Pettis and Dubon

Abreu GB to 7; Bregs to 2nd

Right on Jim – I was more commenting about the craziness of possible directions - not the legitimate belief that Abreu should be shitcanned after 3 months. My loyalty goes way beyond this post FYI

He didn’t do well on the squeeze attempt in the 10th either. You don’t want to bunt it straight to the pitcher. That said, Julks’ hesitation after the bunt was the far bigger blunder.

Chas, K 2 outs

Abreu is swinging it much better.

6-5 Astros, Smith, up

Then what was Julks doing?
