Yeah, I think it was a safety squeeze, not a suicide squeeze. And if that is the case, Maldonado deserves a little blame for bunting directly back to the pitcher. Had it been a suicide squeeze, it’s just get the ball down anywhere.
After Maldy’s previous bunt attempt, I’m not sure a squeeze was a wonderful idea there anyway.
