“These are the times that try men’s souls”, ie, why do I keep watching this crap.

Apparently you can’t step off

To the 9th…Astros dickstomp their way to a 1-run deficit.

It’s not.

I do like that the midget ump at 2B who called it is named “Junior Valentine”

This is a serious miscarriage of a lead.

Must be a new rule.

Ford and Sparks said it was the right call.

Both umps called it, so they must have seen something.

Have you watched the Dusty Baker Astros?

I think before he disengaged, his back leg/knee bent a little, like he started to move, and then the stepped off. I’d like to see another replay, but I think that’s what Valentine saw.

HPU pointed to 2bU, it was his call.

It’s BS. First the ump tried to say Stanek did not step off, then when reminded he did, the ump changed it to ‘did not step off properly’ because Stanek had started his motion.

But the rule is not worded that way, the ump was wrong, which is why he tossed Stanek at the end of the inning - guilty conscience.

You mean wheb he was lifting his foot to step off, gotcha

Stanek regularly bends his back knee before he comes home. If he did that then stepped off, it’s a balk.

Yes, if you have the pitcher on a microscope in slow motion, he does move his front leg a tic while he steps off with the back leg. Try that move without flinching your other leg.

The ump was wrong.

Whatever happened, that balk call is not what cost the Astros this game.

It was the 2B ump

Tucker with a leadoff single.
