Astros @ Braves, 08/19/22

Make some noise offense

PeƱa will swing at some fucking slop.

That was some fucked shit.

Could have used some of yhose surplus runs from yesterday.

Bregman double and nothing else.

Glad this one started early.

Hope Yordan is healthy and Dubon isn’t too badly injured.

This play was made almost right in front of us. It was an amazing play. Dude is something else on the infield.

I’m jealous, as many of the deals are very team friendly.

Hope they treated you well.

They did. Not one bad experience with anyone. Kind of unbelievable…very impressed with the fans.

I didn’t see it, only heard the radio broadcast.

Was the play at second where Harris(?) was called safe at 2B after a challenge as close as it sounded?

I hate being tinfoil hat guy, but I’m starting to feel NY MLB officials aren’t on the level.

Especially after the HBP last week that wasn’t reversed.

It feels like every challenge and review is going against the Astros regardless of how close it is, which team challenged, or what the right call really is.

Its like they are saying ā€œI don’t need to watch it - whichever call is against the Astros is what we are callingā€

It feels like the other teams are just saying " Screw it they always rule against the Astros so we might as well challenge"

Yes the play was that close.
Yes I’m surprised they overturned it.
No they ain’t out to get us.
We just remember the ones that don’t go our way.

Bang bang close, and I thought he might have been safe. I also am surprised because the call on the field was ā€œout.ā€ The call could have gone either way, which I did not think was sufficient evidence.

This is exactly how I saw it.

Replay was one that watching it I was pretty sure he was indeed safe, but also one where I didn’t think the angle would be considered conclusive evidence to overturn call on the field.

If you’ve read the book or seen the movie Midnight In The Garden of Good and Evil the murder took place in the Savannah home known as the Mercer-Williams house. Mercer as in ā€œJohnnyā€. The movie used the actual house for scenes. I’ve been in that house and it is quite lovely. And Savannah is a great town. The cover photo used for the book is of statuary in a local cemetery, St. Bonaventure. We have that same statue, but smaller, in our garden that we purchased at the Mercer house. Mercer is buried at St. Bonaventure.

I read the book as well, many, many years ago. From what I understand Johnny never lived in the Mercer House, which was built possibly for his grandfather. They were a family of some prominence in Savannah.

I’ve been to Savannah, but it’s been 30 years or more. I’d like to return some day. Same goes for Charleston, nice stroll down King Street, maybe take another turn through the States’ Rights Museum.
