Judge k’s for the 5th time tonight. But his team has the lead.
Not right now. Abreu loses command too often, Raley doesn’t have the stuff or command to be a high-leverage guy, and Smith has been awful to start the year. The rest of the guys the Astros were counting on are on the IL.
Why do the Astros like looking at get me over breaking balls so much?

Mark, I have thoughts about Dusty. They’re semi-formulated after 3 beers and 8 palomas, what are your specifics?
I think he’s a great guy, and a solid player’s coach. I think he’s a fantastic diplomat for the baseball world, and the perfect figure head for a team that’s “sorry for what they did”.
I also however think that he’s outmatched by any coach with any depth of strategy, and I think he is absolutely awful at managing the pitching staff, mostly the bullpen.
I’m officially done with him as of yesterday. Sending your fucking bench coach out to tell the umpire he’s horseshit instead of doing it yourself is on a totally different level of disconnected.
I would much rather have Espada at the helm. At least he learned under AJ and gives a fuck beyond blathering in the post game about whatever.

I thought Dusty was great for last year, but he’s not good for going forward.

I wasn’t a fan last year either. He took a dominant team that was 1 win away from being Champs and coached them to being a mediocre .500 team that creeped in to the playoffs and rolled over in the ALCS.
