Once again the Mariners blew a lead in the 8th.
The resting Servais face was sublime.
I think it is still 2.5 & 3, yes?
I would like to stress that the Rangers are much closer to last than to first.
Theyâre going to have to close their season 25-16 just to get to .500. Thatâs a spirited defense of that WS title.
How about we donât start gloating with a 3-game lead in mid-August.
Strange â Baseball Reference still has âŚ
Edited it for you. Just in case the BBGâs are listening.
With all respect to the BBGs, I think Iâll still hold my breath until after the run of Orioles, Red Sox, Phillies, and Royals.
BRef doesnât update until after all games that day finish.
Yes. This was taken this afternoon.
ETA - Oops â I somehow saw the original as last nightâs score. My bad.
Since the WS in â22, ALL of this has been bonus baseball for me. There is never a permanent âopen windowâ and I was super happy to see them get close to another WS last year. It was a fun ride and was about the easiest pathway to a repeat that couldâve possibly been laid out for the Astros. The team really just wasnât what it had been and I wasnât too upset.
Earlier this season I thought that the chickens had come home to roost and was already starting to be at peace with what might have been the end of a run that ANY franchise would sign up for at any cost.
Well, this organization just seems to have an expectation of being a part of the conversation at this point. It feels like thereâs an entire 25 man roster on the IL yet the people keep stepping up, most notably on the mound.
I hope all of you also appreciate that weâre watching a âcultureâ at this point. Winning and being in contention is just the minimum.
Anything they accomplish this season is just extra frosting on a huge ass cake.
Exactly what I was about to say.
There remains work to do
I wonât lie and say I didnât start scoreboard watching AL postseason contenders recently, and Iâm naturally pleased when certain teams lose, but Iâm not about to start talking shit about anything.
Thatâs one great thing about the RedSox-Oâs game Iâm watching: one of them is gonna lose.
How about the Astros take care of daily bidness, keep on keepinâ on, get some arms back, and maybe, just maybe, Tuck back (unfortunately, I hear heâs a quadruple amputee now living in Sarasota), win the division, and then think about the postseason (BBGs be praised, always)?
Iâd love nothing more than to see the Houston Astros baseball club continue to piss off all the hatersâŚ
