Props to Crane for going after Hader and spending the big bucks. It’s paying off.

I was going by tonight’s boxscore.
If Bregman can keep it up through the end of the season he might have me saying, pay the man.
They either have to pay him or find an adequate way to replace him. Bregman will never get back to his 2019 MVP form at the plate, but he still contributes positively to winning baseball in many ways.

That Schwab blurb about 25 straight must have been incorrect if he only has 26 now.
He earned his 25th save in a row on Saturday in the 5-4 win at Boston. This was his first save chance since. Schwab’s tweet about 25 saves in a row was published after Hader saved Saturday’s win.

Sign the man.
They have shown they can survive without big stretches of Altuve, Yordan and Tucker over this run. Bregman has been the most durable, if not most productive, of the core players.
There are less options in the pipeline, or in free agency to replace Bregman.
It would be tough to let him go.
He’s looked good in his three starts with the team, and they will need arms next season and beyond. An extension should be under consideration.

Agreed. Bregman adds a lot of positive value with his defense, and, from recent reports, has stepped into a role as clubhouse leader. He and Victor Caratini told Kikuchi to start using his changeup more after he was traded to the Astros.
