So crazy, I’m sitting here watching the game and who should call me for the first time in years? That’s right, Nutsie. I bet you anything she’s at the game. Ty, heads up.
I think I hear her.
GIDP!!
Yes
Pitcher’s best friend!
B9:
Pressly will try to close it out
Arozarena…full count…foul…grounds out 6-3
Lowe singles to RF on the first pitch
Paredes grounds into 5-4-3 double play to end it
Shutout!
5-0
That’s a big win.
Nice win!
Last time I heard from her she emailed and was talking about how great DeSantis is, what a hoax Covid is and how the vaccines are poison, and how some C-level executive at Microsoft had disabled her email address. You know, the usual. She seems to have left a voicemail message, so I’ll summon the courage and listen to it here in a minute.
I’m going to go out on a limb and predict that the Rays don’t get shut out too many more times this year.
Hell of a win!
Has anything been said in the Houston media whether Pressly is ailing?
Dubon has to play somewhere more days than not. I am beginning to think he is for real.
No.
No what?
No, nothing has been said in the Houston media about whether Pressly is ailing.
Dusty said a couple of days ago postgame that he was told by the pitching guys that he was a bit “sore”, so he gave him last Sunday off (hence the Abreu save)
Ok, thanks.
Why did you ask, notice something tonight?
They didn’t (either).
It’s fun, seeing the other guys “sharing” Astros facts - while one Astro had 100 RBI (107) last year, five players had b/t 60-80…
The Rays had allowed only eight innings with 2 or more runs during their first 22 games; the 'Stros got one last night and won with a 5-run inning tonight.
Not that I’ve heard. They’ve used him sparingly, but I don’t know if that’s just a function of the game situation or there is more there than they’re saying. Sparky said tonight he was good for tonight and tomorrow, what with the off day on Thursday.
Iirc they said his first save situation of the year was in the Atl series, which was hard to believe
