Way to run that out Alex.
Altuveâs 1-5. I often think about what Pete Rose said, which is Those one for fivesâll kill ya.
I hate the Cubs.
And their fans.
Pathetic
I might presume to suggest that your ire could be better directed elsewhere.
I have plenty of ire to go around.
You arenât the only one. Another day, another game the Astrosâ offense is impotent. 14 losses where they have scored three runs or less.
And that doesnât touch on the pitching issues.
Does something about their 10.80 ERA in the first inning displease you?
Today the pitching was fine with the exception of a single pitch. In fact, other than that one pitch Mrs Lincoln it was really good.
The Astros are 3rd in MLB in BA, 7th in OBP, and 8th in SLG⌠but 19th in runs. Itâs almost unfathomable how much they suck with runners on.
ETA: FanGraphs has a metric called âclutchâ that measures âhow much better or worse a player does in high leverage situations than in a neutral environment.â The values range from 1st at 1.82 (CHC) to 29th at -1.75 (BOS), and there are only 10 teams in the negative range.
30th is the Astros, at -3.03.
1 for 10 tonight. Seems about right.
I stand corrected:
HR. Loperfido, J 2 (12, 1st inning off Castellanos, H, 0 on, 1 out, 5th inning off Castellanos, H, 0 on, 2 out);
Added bonus: he apparently already has the âget your hits with nobody on baseâ part down.
Loperfido is the first AAA player with 12 HR in April since some guy named Yordan.
And, yet, he is still in AAA while the Astros start Joae Abreu and Jon Singleton at 1B and are struggling to consistently score runs. Make it make sense.
