Astros at Blue Jays, 6/7/23

Yainer’s work back there has been very impressive.

Dubon to the wall!

Let’s bring him home

Just pulled those hands in and whipped them around

DAMMIT TUVE

Damn.

Altuve just got on top of that and Dubon can’t move.

Shit shit shit.

Fucking Kiermaier.

Wish we had him.

Fucking hell.

Another game with Dubón, Yordan, and nada.

I missed most of the game but looks like Blanco was effective.

Dana Brown is going to have to trade for a bat. France, Bielak and Blanco have done all you can ask for filling in for Garcia, Urquidy and McCullers.

The bullpen is suddenly not so great, either. I am wishing Dana Brown all the best because there is a lot of work to do.

I would agree that guys like Montero and Stanek need to right themselves, and even Abreu has had some struggles lately. That said, the Astros have allowed the fewest runs in baseball with 221. Dana Brown’s top priority has to be finding an OF/1B bat to cover for Jose Abreu and not having Brantley. In the meantime, Mauricio Dubon needs to be starting every day unless he requires a day off. If all of your top regulars are playing, put Dubon in LF and DH Yordan or put him at 2B and DH Altuve.

For now, if I were Dusty, my lineup would look something like this:

Dubon
Altuve
Yordan
Bregman
Tucker
Pena
Abreu
CF (McCormick vs every LHP or Meyers)
Maldonado

or

Dubon
Altuve
Yordan
Bregman
Tucker
Pena
Abreu
Diaz
CF (McCormick vs every LHP or Meyers)

Other than a starter, a bat, and a bullpen arm, let’s make it happen
