Ohtani hit that thing to Mars. Now 10-5 with nobody out in the bottom of the 8th.
To the 9th. Still 10-5 Astros.
5-2 Seattle in the bottom of the 9th in Oakland.
Josh James warming up for the 9th.
There have been some great individual seasons this year. Vlad Jr. to name one. It doesnāt matter, Ohtani is the MVP. Heās like giving your team an extra roster spot.
James walks Stassi to open the 9th.
And yet your team still sucks dick.
MVP is such a joke for an award title.
Call it Best Individual Performer, fine.
But He isnāt the Most Valuable anything unless that thing is your name in a headline where your team lost but you hit a homerun. Itās fucking idiotic.
Rengifo pops out to Maldonado for the first out.
Nice play by James to keep that bunt foul. Then gets the K and the Astros get the win.
You can make an argument that the MVP shouldnāt go to a player on a losing team. The award has occasionally in the past, but itās always a little controversial. I donāt think you can make an argument that Ohtani is not more valuable than any other individual player in the game today. A front line starting pitcher and a 100+ RBI guy. There are pitchers as good as him and there are hitters as good as him, but nobody else can do both.
Heās not enough to turn a team around by himself, this isnāt basketball.
Seattle beats Oakland 5-2.
Astrosā magic number is now 4 against both.
Damn, that Broncoā¦
Agree with all of thatā¦ā¦but I want him out there only when he has to be and nothing more. Heās too valuable a hitter to risk injury in the field.
Crazy talk. Make great hitters the DH to avoid injury playing defense?
Good grief, he plays LF. There canāt be much less risk. Itās the easiest position on the field. Plus he hits better when he plays the field. No need to wrap him in bubble wrap.
Kudos for the last, very true sentence. There is more of a risk of injury in running the bases; should he not hit?
He should only hit homers.
Safety first.
